These bookends call upon the classical design of Greek and Roman architecture, but then have the magical touch that all item associated with reading should have. The Temple of Deep Waters, inspire deep thinking and contemplation. As you climb up the stairs and fall into their pools, the waters heal your body and rejuvenate your mind.  That's the image I had when designing these bookends. So that each time you see them on your shelves, you feel a sense of calm and a cleansing of the mind. I think they also look pretty cool. 

The main body of the columns were 3d printed, then filled with ceramic resin for weight, finally the pools were filled with blue UV resin.
